Laser Pet Therapy
Apr. 10, 2024

Laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment method that uses laser beams to promote tissue repair and relieve pain. This treatment is increasingly being applied to various conditions, including arthritis, trauma, post-surgical recovery, and other inflammatory diseases. Different wavelengths of light are absorbed by the skin, tissues, and blood in different degrees. Below is some information about different wavelengths used in pet laser therapy:

1.650nm: Belongs to the red region of the visible spectrum. This wavelength has lower penetration ability and typically better absorption of tissues, making it effective for treating superficial tissues. It can promote cell metabolism, improve blood circulation, reduce inflammation, accelerate tissue repair, and relieve pain. It also can beused in photodynamic therapy (PDT). This wavelength is helpful for issues like superficial tissue inflammation, trauma, or post-surgery recovery.

2.808nm: Belongs to the infrared band of the full spectrum. This wavelength has a higher ability  in tissue penetration and is considered to have lower energy absorption as penetrates deeper into the tissues. This wavelegth can promote cell metabolism, improve blood circulation, reduce inflammation, accelerate tissue repair, and relieve pain, in additional to promoting ATP production. It also has a higher absorption to melanin. This wavelength may be beneficial for arthritis, soft tissue injuries, and post-surgery recovery.

3.980nm: Like 808nm wavelength, the 980nm laser is a near-infrared laser with a longer wavelength. It has low energy absorption as it penetrates deeper into tissues, making it suitable for treating deep tissues such as muscles, joints, and other deep structures. It can be used for local treatment of deeper tissues. This wavelength can promote ATP production, accelerate clotting, reduce pain, and enhance therapeutic effects.

4.1064nm: Also an infrared laser wavelength, similar to the 808nm and 980nm lasers, with a high tissue penetration ability. It has lower energy absorption when penetrating tissues and can reach deeper tissue areas. Water can absorbs this wavelength well, while melanin absorption is lower. It can be used for rapid pain relief and deep tissue activation.
